Les
Gets is an old alpine village which became a famous ski resort after the construction
of its first skilift in 1936. Idealy situated at an altitude of 1200m at the
bottom of the slopes, the ski resort of Les Gets has a very good reputation
for its skiing and is part of the huge "Portes du Soleil" skiing area
with 650 km of slopes between France and Switzerland.
During the summer, it is possible to pursue many activities in the area, including
walking, mountain biking and rafting. The area is also excellent for site seeing
and excursions to Chamonix, Lake Geneva or to Switzerland and Italy which are
nearby.
